This is my collage wreath. I folded up a page of a magazine like a fan and cut triangles out of it which created diamonds. I like it, it's kind of like a kaleidoscope.

I think this is my favourite wreath so far and it was so quick and easy to make. Felt cut into leaf or marquise shapes and chunky wool. So bright and fun :)

Ok so I didn't make this one. This wreath is actually a little partner to a bigger wreath both of which have been the Christmas wreaths for my family my whole life :) Ah, memories.

I just realised I never established how many wreaths total I would have to make for it to be one a day until Christmas. So hear it is the grand total of wreaths I'll have cluttering my house come Christmas day is 38. Whoa that seems like a lot, and here's number three.

This one I made with cut up paint chips from the hardware store and some left over split pins I had lying around.

This is wreath number two, an illustration in my sketch book. I made this one using waterproof black pen and water colour pencils.

Wreath a Day: 1

Despite the gloomy weather here in/around Brisbane I've been infected with holiday spirit and took it upon myself to make the family a wreath for this years Christmas. After getting started I decided why not make a wreath every day until Christmas. Now those of you who have read my blog for a while may be aware how bad I am at sticking to one a day sort of goals but this time I'm adamant and almost completely sure I'll do it.

The rules are as follows: I must make (construct, draw, create, represent) a wreath for every day from and including today to and including Christmas. I do not have to make each wreath on it's respective day I just have to make enough to fill every day, and I must post a wreath here on this blog every single day.

So now that's all clear let me present wreath number 1:

For this wreath I used a bamboo hoop I got at Lincraft and wrapped it with wool ribbon, and micro suede. As I made it I loved it, hated it, and ended with satisfaction.

What better way to brighten an afternoon than looking at Kay Nielson illustrations. That's what I've been doing and already I want to give up National Novel Writing Month and try my hand at drawing again.
Maybe a bit of both would be alright, and I mustn't neglect Hearsay.
